Development of the Libros for Oregon project was supported in part by a two-year LSTA grant from Oregon’s Library Support and Development Services division. The first year of the grant (2016-17) was for planning a sustainable program infrastructure, and the second year (2017-18) was for testing the implementation of the plan.

In 2021 LfO was awarded a LSTA grant of $16,500 to spend on Spanish-language materials and their fees to help Oregon libraries better serve their Spanish-speaking communities. Ten libraries received donations of FIL items to grow their Spanish collections.

Each year, state funds in the Oregon State Library budget leverage a two-to-one match of federal funds under the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grants to States program.  This program is administered at the federal level by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  More information about Oregon's Library Services & Technology Act (LSTA) Program.
